Exploring the Plan for Ashuelot Rail Trail Implementation Plan

Between 2018 and 2020, SWRPC led a planning initiative that focused on developing a common vision for the Ashuelot Rail Trail, an approximately 21-mile section of publicly owned trail that runs from Keene and south through Swanzey, Winchester, and Hinsdale. Known as Plan for Ashuelot Rail Trail, the initiative included the identification of specific projects that would further the goals and objectives articulated by stakeholders involved in the planning process. SWRPC staff compiled these projects into an implementation plan, which was included in the final planning document, as well as an interactive web application, which you can explore below. The intent of the implementation plan is to serve as a resource for municipalities and trail advocates interested in developing the Ashuelot Rail Trail as an integrated transportation and recreation corridor.
