Monadnock Region Celebrates Community Transportation Month

The Monadnock Regional Coordinating Council (MRCC) is a participant in celebrating the first annual Community Transportation Month.  Throughout the month of October, the MRCC is joining with the HCS Transportation and Community Volunteer Transportation Company to highlight various forms of community transportation in the region.  Each week local and regional news, and social media will highlight a different mode of transportation to raise awareness about the different services available in the region:

• October 1-7: Fixed Route Public Transit & Week Without Driving Challenge
• October 8-14: Volunteer Driver Programs
• October 15-21: Demand Response, Paratransit, and Veteran programs
• October 22-27: Biking, Walking, using other Micromobility Options and Safety

Throughout the month, Commute Smart NH is hosting the Buses, Bikes, and Brooms Commuter Challenge.  The challenge encourages workplaces to rethink their commuting practices by trying new, more sustainable methods of getting to work.  For more information about Community Transportation Month and the commuter challenge, contact Terry Johnson of SWRPC staff at [email protected].
