Celebrating Community Transportation Month Happenings

HCS Provides Free Rides on Local Buses

In honor of Community Transportation Month, the City Express and Friendly Bus are offering free rides the week of Monday, October 23rd to Friday, October 27th. The City Express stops at 24 locations including downtown, shopping centers and grocery stores, the Keene Public Library and Rec Center, YMCA, and medical facilities. The buses can also be flagged along the route if it is safe to stop. City Express buses operate from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Friendly Bus provides door to door service for adults over age 60. Reservations are necessary one day in advance. The Friendly Bus operates in the City of Keene and will provide rides to medical appointments, shopping, and recreation activities. Keene Housing Kids Collaborative and Thomas Transportation Team Up to Help Youth

Keene Housing Kids Collaborative (KHKC) shows appreciation for Thomas Transportation driver, Mark Healey. Healy is pictured with Anna Crosby, KHKC Youth Services Administrator. He is also pictured with one of KHKC’s kids, Dalton (12) who is able to go to weekly lessons at Monadnock Jiu Jitsu thanks to KHKC’s youth transportation program made possible by the Monadnock Regional Coordinating Council and Thomas Transportation.
