Southwest
Region 10-Year
Transportation Improvement Program
FOR THE
YEARS 2005 - 2014 |
|
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
SWRPC requests proposals
and comments regarding the development and management of the
Region's transportation system. Projects to improve highways
and bridges, sidewalks, paths and trails, buses and airports are
sought. Local proposals to be submitted by September 30th,
2002.
|
This will be
the 6th 10-Year TIP developed for the
Southwest Region by the Southwest Region. |
|
Project selection is competitive within the Region
and at the State level - where Transportation
Improvement Programs (TIP's) from NH's nine
regional planning commissions are unified by the
NH Department of Transportation to create the
Statewide TIP in compliance with the Federal
funding program. |
|
The TIP is a
Capital Investment plan for our Region.
As a schedule of
public spending and infrastructure changes
it is essential to coordinate the TIP with
community plans. Priorities
for infrastructure
management should be based on both our needs
for safety and mobility today, and our
vision for the future. |

Although funding
may vary a great deal between years, the Region's allocation
is typically stable over a 10-year period. Each TIP cycle is
an opportunity to enroll new projects in the "out years" -
typically the last two years of the new cycle. |
