Natural Resources Planning

The Commission conducts research, analyses, public information, policy development and regional planning to support State and local activity for the conservation of natural resources for social and ecological benefits throughout the Southwest Region.

Regional conservation planning comprises the interaction of several elements:

• Staff level research and analyses

• Public involvement in policy-making

General goals of the program:

• Develop and Maintain Regional Natural Resources Information Base

• Support the Commission's Natural Resources Advisory Committee

The Commission's regional natural resources program is structured primarily under a cooperative work program with the NH Department of Environmental Services known as the Regional Environmental Planning Program.

The Commission also undertakes activities with support from the NH DES programs:

• NH Rivers Management and Protection Program
• Non-Point Source Pollution Prevention Program
