Travel Demand Management for Keene and Beyond
During September, the Planning Commission submitted the Travel Demand Management (TDM) Plan for Keene and Beyond to the NH Department of Transportation. This Plan was developed through original research and facilitated deliberations of 21 stakeholders and from various organizations and local and state agencies. A Greater Keene TDM Advisory Committee was formed at the completion of the plan and has met regularly to discuss potential activities that have an aim to alleviate traffic congestion in and around Keene, particularly during peak hours. This Committee has evolved into the Greater Keene TDM Advocacy Group to promote the concepts of TDM through participation in transportation fairs for local businesses, sponsoring public service announcements and other activities identified in the Plan. The Plan can be viewed on the Planning Commission’s website at www.swrpc.org/trans/TDM_Keene_2007.pdf. For further information, please contact Sarah Patriquin of Commission staff.
