Community & Economic Development

• Community Development Block Grants (CDBG): The CDBG Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  The program's primary objective is to benefit persons of low and moderate income. HUD defines moderate income as 80% of an area's median household income.

• Regional Economic Development Partnership (REDP):  The REDP was initiated to assist the Region's municipalities in conducting economic development planning as a component of overall master planning, to establish a Regional Economic Development Committee to serve as a forum for coordination and dialogue, and to conduct studies of the Southwest Region with focus on trends and analyses pertaining to economic development characteristics of the Region.

• Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy(CEDS):
  SWRPC and a coalition of local, state and federal partners prepared a CEDS for the Southwest Region. The project was undertaken to promote a regional perspective in local economic development planning, and to qualify projects within the Southwest Region for various federal and state funds.
