Vermont Yankee Decommissioning Stakeholders



A number of groups have taken shape on either a formal or informal basis in order to manage and/or monitor the impact going forward. They include:


The Vermont Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel (NDCAP), a group under the auspices of the Vermont Public Service Board that includes 19 members, including Senator Molly Kelly of Keene. Meeting announcements, agendas, and minutes can be found on the NDCAP website.


The (NH) Governor’s Working Group on Vermont Yankee Decommissioning, under the auspices of the division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management in the New Hampshire Department of Safety. The NH State and Local Officials Coordination Group, a group under the auspices of the Southwest Region Planning Commission that includes representatives from the New Hampshire communities of Hinsdale, Winchester, Chesterfield, Westmoreland, Keene and Swanzey along with representatives from five state agencies.


The Tri-State Region Stakeholders Group, an information exchange among organizations in the three counties affected by the Vermont Yankee closure, including Southwest Region Planning Commission (Keene, NH), the Windham Regional Commission (Brattleboro, VT) and the Franklin County Regional Council of Governments (Greenfield, MA).
